I can understand if you don’t like her work; it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I can understand if you somehow don’t like her personality or persona. But as a gamer, as a girl gamer and as a feminist — I cannot stomach the umpteenth post that complains about her physical appearance. Whether you dog her for being too good looking that it alienates her from female gamers, or the people who actually think she’s a dog. I always find it disgusting, when girls hate other girls on their looks. We are divided enough as it is in society, so why are we doing that within our own guilds? It’s upsetting and disheartening to watch people negate a person’s whole career on the crap that gets written.
Love the fact, she is giving gamers a voice. Love the fact she is putting women on the map, in an extensively male dominated genre. Love the fact she is creating something for the good. Be proud as a step in the right direction, and celebrate the fact of another strong female role model. I get that people shy away from the fact they are trying to make her a brand when it comes with Dragon Age, but is that such a bad thing? It draws fanbase into a great game/series, which isn’t that what we all want? People to love and appreciate the stories and games?
It’s cool if you don’t like her, but at least give her props for trying.
sb! Yes, I do like what she did with Tallis and the DA realm.
sb!2 Support strong women in the arts, don’t knock them down! Let’s rally and encourage those that do.
For all of you posting this pic… I am preeeettty sure it isn’t actually felicia day. It really looks nothing like her, imo. (plus the pic has green eyes, instead of Felicia’s blue — i know, I know it could be contacts but why bother then?) I’d like to know what photoshoot it was if it is indeed her. But I think it’s just a bunch of mistaken identity.
… but I find Felicia Day to be very hard on the eyes. She is just completely unappealing to me. Please note that I’m not saying she’s ugly, I’m just not “feeling” anything about her. She has no underlying mysterious air, nor particularly captivating features.
And particularly captivating features (no, not tits and ass) are what made Dragon Age ladies stand out.
Though, from what I’ve seen, her Tallis character is likeable. But even the character “stands out” somehow.
Feh… to each his own.
I totally have to disagree, as a fan. I think she is stunning. But I do have to think her strength lies in her every day beauty. I like to see a celebrity with achievable beauty, versus the over wrought, over worked usual celebrity garb. But regardless of her looks… you have to admit she is a talented actress and writer and overall human being. I think she’ll do DA a real justice, as a large fan herself of the universe. But as you said, to each his own.
Not sure which would give you diabetes first… Felicia or the donuts!
Oh, in another realm, Nathan and Neil should totally get it on. Not. Even. Kidding.
